THE GARLAND COMPLEX

University of Warwick - Faculty of Arts - 2022

This original production wove together three potent strands of English life: the landmark 1967 Sexual Offences Act, the suffocating perfection of suburbia, and the tragic, recurring narrative of Judy Garland, her mother and her daughter marrying closeted gay men. We explored the prisons built not by law, but by society and secrets, questioning the nature of freedom and the price of a "respectable" life.

ROLE - CO-DIRECTOR/CO-WRITER
